Governor Chukwuma Soludo has celebrated the Chief Executive Officer of JEZCO Oil, Chief Joseph Ezekafor as he clocked sixty-nine years .
Governor Soludo and his wife Nonye attended a thanksgiving mass held in honour of Chief Ezekafor at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral Ekwulọbịa officiated by Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke.
The mass was also used to celebrate Chief Ezekafor’s Papal Knighthood Investiture as well as memorial of his parents.
The Governor who eulogized the celebrant as a great soul, said that the ongoing Ekwulọbịa flyover and its environs will be a game-changer when completed.
The Governor noted that his administration is planning for the next generations, disclosing that the road will be dualized to Uga and Amawbia.
He assured that his government will continue to manage resources for greater results.
In a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas-Benson Okoye, said the mass affords opportunity for adoration, reparation, thanksgiving and described Chief Ezekafor as one who has laboured to keep his family together.
Bishop Okoye who admonished people who want to succeed to be disciplined, noted that Chief Ezekafor lived a life of thanksgiving, touching lives in education, health, infrastructure, providing jobs for over five thousand people and called on the people to emulate his lifestyle.
The Prelate who revealed that the church is a place where conscience is formed, recalled how schools were taken away from the church and emphasized that Governor Soludo has encouraged mission schools since he came onboard.
He called on the people not to leave everything for the government alone, but partner with them at the private and community level as a way of encouraging them.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Barrister Slyvester Ezeokenwa, Transition Committee Chairman for Aguata, Barrister Chibueze Offorbuike, Former Governor Peter Obi, Senator Victor Umeh, business executives, traditional rulers, friends and associates, Bishops and clergy, attended the event.
