The Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu has charged young people to set goals for themselves, have mentors and equip themselves with the right knowledge and character to achieve success in life.

 

Speaking on “Integrating marketing communications” at an event tagged “Skill up one point zero” organised by the office of the Public Relations Officer, Students’ Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, the ABS boss tasked students on sharpening their writing skills and having mastery of public speaking.

He noted that avoiding truancy, being time conscious at all times and embracing gradual rise in life will enable young people to achieve set objectives.

 

Contributing, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council, Dr. Emeka Odogwu, who shared opportunities on how journalism exposed him in life; with attendant benefits, said that there is need for one to have entrepreneurial spirit, passion and desire to learn new things in the ever-changing world, adding that failures and challenges of life present opportunities for self-development.

On his part, a lecturer in Sociology and Anthropology Department of the university, Dr. Nzubechukwu Ekebusi, tasked young people on developing their individual talents early enough, even as he charged the participants on proper use of social media, as according to him, there are jobs for digitally inclined minds.

Earlier, the Public Relations Officer, Students ‘Union Government of the university, Oscar Azolibe, said that the event was put together to empower students with public relations and journalism skills for the achievement of success in life.
