Governor Chukwuma Soludo has said that cash collection of taxes across Anambra State remain banned.
speaking while interacting with Igbo-ukwu stakeholders, as well as traders at Nkwo Igbo-ukwu market in Aguata Local Government Area.
He said that ninety percent of taxes paid by cash do not get to the state government, emphasizing that Anambra State Government revenues are collected through electronic means.
Governor Soludo preached the “Neni Model”; where people of the community took it upon themselves to develop their town.
The Governor, after he was presented with the architectural design of the proposed Nkwo Market, emphasized that the market is largely a community and local government project.
Chairman of Nkwo Igbo-ukwu Market Planning Committee, Chief Christopher Eze, gave assurances to the Governor that he would present the updated design of the market project, as well as other requests.
The Transition Committee Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, traditional ruler of Igbo-ukwu, Igwe Alex Azike, among others attended the meeting.
