Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reiterated call for private community, Public partnership in fast tracking the development of the state.

Governor Soludo who was represented by Anambra State Head of Procurement, Hon Okey Ezeobi made the call at Ikenga community in Aguata local government when Mmanegbuego Foundation flagged off its empowerment program touching about twenty members of the community.

He asked the beneficiaries and members of the community to take ownership and be responsible for whatever an individual or government put in place in their community.

According to him, one thing is for government to site a project in a community but it is utterly the responsibility of the members of the community to ensure that quality work is done and that the facility is protected from vandalisation.

Four members of the community received brand new motorcycles while another three received new grinding machines, while another three tailors received brand new sewing machines.

Others received cash grants to support their businesses.

The founder of Mmanegbuego Foundation, Dr. Sunday Patrick Dim while handing over the empowerment items, emphasized that it was a legacy he received from his late father who told him to always help his people especially those who have little or no means of daily income.

Dr. Dim called on other members of Ikenga who have been blessed by God to join hands with him so that they can as well replicate in the community, the agenda of Anambra state governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo who recently empowered 5000 Anambra Youths with N2 Billion Naira start-up fund.

While promising to double the number of beneficiaries hopefully by next year, he used the opportunity to appreciate Governor Soludo for remembering Ikenga, a community that doesn’t have any motorable road before his advent, such that the Community now have many quality tarred road connecting the community to the state capital.

The member representing Ogbaru 1 and his counterpart representing Aguata 2 at Anambra State House of Assembly Rt Hon Noble Igwe and Hon Anthony Muobike in their separate remarks commended the Foundation for the wonderful feat and called on members of the community to support the efforts of Governor Soludo in youth empowerment and infrastructural development in the area.
