Governor Chukwuma Soludo has continued to receive commendations for his sustained efforts in empowering youths to become self-reliant.

 

Speaking in Awka, the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene said that the gesture will have positive impact on the future of the state.

 

According to Chief Okeke Ogene, the initiative is a sustainable approach to tackling challenges of unemployment, poverty and hunger and will help to curb crime and social vices as the youths will now be actively engaged in productive ventures and many of them will become employers of labour in the near future.

 

Chief Okeke Ogene called on members of the Association of Anambra in the United States of America to join hands with Governor Soludo to reposition the state for sustainable development and expressed satisfaction that the Association during its last meeting in Atlanta USA forged unity of purpose to continue interventions in the state especially in the areas of medical missions to assist government scale up quality of life, noting that collective responsibility will enable government achieve good governance.

 

The Ohaneze Ndigbo vice President commended the success of the state New Yam Festival which he noted promoted sense of unity among communities, provided platform for socialization and promotion of Igbo cultural heritage.

 

Also speaking, a community leader Chief Ikenna Chikere said that the Governor has continued to fulfil promises made to the people and urged residents of the state to be alive to their civic responsibilities.
