As parts of his administration’s commitment towards imprinting and ensuring that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda on affordable and qualitative education was felt across communities in Anambra West under the Anambra West Integrated Development Strategy, the Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr Felix Ikechi has visited and donated textbooks to Anglican Grammar School Odekpe, Anambra West Local Government Area.
Speaking during the exercise, Mr. Ikechi reiterated the government’s total commitment to qualitative and affordable education in the state, and noted that what he has done was to complement the efforts of the Anambra State Government in education development.
He described education as one of the greatest investments for the future and noted that the first phase of the textbook’s distribution covers the core subjects of English and Mathematics which he believed would enhance the learning experience of the students.
The Anambra West Mayor commended Governor Soludo’s administration for making education a top priority, through the recently announced free basic education, describing the gesture as unprecedented and said that the importance of quality education cannot be overemphasized, even as he encouraged the students to reciprocate the government’s huge investment in education by studying hard to excel so as to remain relevant in the emerging world.
In his vote of thanks, the principal of the school, Reverend Chukwudi Daniel thanked Mr. Ikechi for his kind gesture, describing it as first of its kind as the gesture would surely improve the academic potentials of the students.
