The President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe has called on members of the union to maintain regular exercise for a healthy living.

 

Comrade Adigwe who made the call at the ongoing 2023 NULGE Week holding in Abuja, said that regular exercise is critical and essential to the well-being of every individual, especially NULGE members that are always saddled with enormous responsibilities.

 

Comrade Adigwe who is the leader of Anambra contingent at the Abuja 2023 NULGE Week pointed out that the Union underscored the importance of exercise which is why various sporting activities were included into the NULGE week in order to keep the body and soul in proper shape.

 

He equally appealed to their members nationwide to take ethical conducts very seriously as there are certain levels of behaviours and professional conducts that are expected of them at all times, and commended NULGE members for being steadfast despite the unfavourable working conditions most of them find themselves across the country.

 

The Anambra NULGE President further enjoined them and other well-meaning Nigerians to re-echo the call for full autonomy of the local government administration in Nigeria, as according to him, only an autonomous local government system would be able to discharge its functions as the third tier of government and function effectively.
