The Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Youth Wing has congratulated the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma over his victory on the recently held November 11 governorship election in the state.
Reacting on the development, the Acting National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu said that Uzodimma’s victory was an act of God, made manifest by the people’s unanimous endorsement.
Maazi Okpalaezeukwu, who personally monitored the election in the company of some Igbo youth leaders and stakeholders, described the exercise as peaceful, insisting that there was no bloodshed as was the case in previous elections.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of the election gave credence to the fact that Igbo youths are attentive and in consonance to the plea of the Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership, led by the President-General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, for them to shun violence during the exercise.
He maintained that the re-election of Governor Uzodinma bears testimony to the people’s general acceptance of his governance and the transformation he is bringing to the state, while adding that the victory is a call on the Governor to double his efforts to bring more development to the State.
The Ohaneze Youth Leader called on the Governor to be magnanimous in victory and reach out to his co-contestants during the election, so as to ensure that everyone is on board to transform Imo State and South East region at large.
Maazi Okpalaezukwu equally called on the political opponents of Governor Uzodimma to understand that the task of building a developed and economically-viable Imo State should not be left for the Governor alone.
