The President-General of Alor in Idemili South Local Government Area, Chief Emma Ojukwu has charged Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, to increase enlightenment of women on their roles in the society.

 

He spoke when a delegation of the association paid him a courtesy visit at his country home.

 

According to Chief Ojukwu, women are the spiritual and psychological backbones of their various families noting that when a man fails to derive necessary support from the wife he will likely succumb to untimely death.

 

Earlier, the Vice Chairman of South-East zone of NAWOJ, Comrade Stella Igboka thanked Chief Ojukwu for his support and drive to empower the women and downtrodden in the society.

 

She explained that the visit was to identify with his laudable projects and assured him of their continuous partnership.

 

Comrade Igboka enumerated series of activities lined up for the triennial NAWOJ conference in Abuja and asked for prayers and support for a successful outing in representing the zone among other regions and assured him that the association will continue to educate the people, especially women.
