The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has asked Christians to strengthen the spiritual foundation on which they train their children and wards.

Most Reverend Ibezim made the call while speaking on the topic “Good foundation” during a joint confirmation service for Archbishop Patterson Memorial Chapel, Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka and Saint Mark’s Chapel, Saint Paul’s Secondary School, Nibo-Nise.

Most Reverend Ibezim who is also the Bishop, Diocese of Awka stated the importance of a strong Christian foundation in ensuring that one remains unshaken in the face of social and moral decadence.

 

The Archbishop said that for a brighter and prosperous future in a time like this, everyone needs to be born again which means receiving the new birth in Jesus Christ which brings spiritual transformation to the individual.

The Principal of Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka, Venerable Dr Nnamdi Emendu while receiving Archbishop Ibezim said that they will continue to nurture and mold the children entrusted unto their care and preach the core words of God which will guide and protect them from the sinful world.

On his part, the Principal of Saint Paul’s Secondary School, Nibo-Nise, Reverend Canon Joseph Onyibo noted that as mission schools with the task of educating and building sound morals, they will keep to their calls by catching them young for Christ.

 

One hundred and forty-four candidates received the sacrament of confirmation during the visit while special prayers were offered for all the students in Bishop Crowther Seminary Awka and Saint Paul’s Secondary School Nibo-Nise as well as their teachers by Most Reverend Ibezim.
