Positive reactions have continued to trail the Anambra State 2024 appropriation bill of over four hundred and ten billion naira which was recently presented to the Anambra State House of Assembly by Governor Chukwuma Soludo for approval.

 

Speaking to the ABS on the budget estimate, the Co-ordinator of Soludo support group in Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Obi Ochije Modilim said that the budget estimate captured critical areas which shows that Professor Chukwuma Soludo is not only a technocrat but a Governor committed to changing the land scape of the state to achieve the livable and prosperous Homeland agenda of his administration.

 

According to Chief Modilim, the plan by the government to construct an ultra-modern hotel in Awka as contained in the 2024 appropriation bill is a clear testament that professor Chukwuma Soludo is poised to transform the city which is now cosmopolitan in view of its new status as a state capital.

 

He recalled how Awka was being addressed and seen as a glorified local government before the advent of the Soludo administration which came and changed the narrative through the gradual multi sectoral development in the Area, ranging from Construction of internal roads within Awka metropolis to the construction of New Government House and lodge in the city.

 

Chief Modilim assured Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the continued support and prayers of the people of Awka, adding that in this present administration, Awka as the state capital has fared better in terms of Infrastructural development and political appointments since it became a state capital thirty-two years ago.

 

Also commenting on the 2024 appropriation bill captioned “changing gear, the transformation agenda begins” , a chieftain of the All progressives Grand Alliance APGA Chief Boniface Egbutu observed that Governor Chukwuma Soludo carefully structured the budget estimate as an economic expert, and commended him for the judicious use of the 2023 budget which he is using in fast racking the development of Anambra State.

 

Chief Egbutu who is a community leader in Nise Awka South local government area extolled the giant strides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in Anambra State especially, the ongoing massive road construction and reconstruction which he noted will apart from opening up the hinterlands boost businesses.

 

Chief Egbutu while calling on the House of Assembly to ensure speedy passage of the budget to. aid the Governor’s zeal in developing Anambra State appealed to Professor Chukwuma Soludo to remember the road that links Ngene Oka Nise with Nibo and Nkwelle Awka in the next phase of road construction of his administration for. enhanced human and vehicular movements in addition to remembering the people of Nise Community in Key appointments.
