The Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma has inspected the three ongoing road projects in Nnewi North.
He was accompanied by the Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Engr Chris Obiorah and other stakeholders from the area.
Starting from Bank Road which was commenced few weeks ago, the entourage also inspected the Okpuneze Junction to Nnewi Hotel and that of Isaho to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital permanent site.
Speaking shortly after the inspection, Engineer Okoma expressed displeasure with the level of work done by the contractor handling the Bank Road project and assured strict monitoring of the project to ensure quality and timely delivery.
On the Okpuneze and Isaho road projects, Engineer Okoma said that the roads will be completed early next year and charged the contractors to speed up work on the roads.
He said the unscheduled inspection was to ensure the work is being done according to specifications and maintained that Governor Soludo is very intentional about ending the road crisis in the state.
The Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Engr Obiorah, on his part, said that the quality of work is very commendable but pointed out the need for the contractors to increase speed of work to deliver on time.
He said that he conducts routine inspection on the road projects and promised to continue to ensure the best is given to Ndi Nnewi.
Engr Obiorah thanked Governor Soludo for his tireless efforts in building a livable and prosperous Anambra State and assured to continue mainstreaming Governor Soludo’s vision in Nnewi North.
The President General of Uruagu Nnewi, Mr Innocent Okoli, expressed satisfaction with Governor Soludo’s passion to give Anambra quality roads and appreciated him for paying attention to Nnewi, noting that the roads will encourage growth and development of Nnewi and as well have a great positive impact on commercial activities.
