The Anambra State Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya, has condemned the lukewarm attitude to work of some staff of the state workforce.

Commissioner Ifeanya, who made the condemnation while addressing staff of the ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in their conference hall at the Jerome Udorji State Secretariat Complex in Awka, warned that henceforth, lateness and absenteeism will be treated with appropriate punitive measures.

He noted that the essence of the meeting was for stocktaking, righting some wrongs and chatting a new way for the year 2024.

While calling for a renewed spirit and good attitude to work to achieve Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision and mission statement for the ministry, Barrister Ifeanya cautioned the staff against uncivil practices that are capable of costing them their jobs.

Commissioner Ifeanya implored the staff of his ministry to always strive towards productivity that is commensurate with their pay, even as he assured of Governor Soludo’s commitment to a better welfare for workers.
