Late Chief Mrs. Ifeoma Felicia Nkwocha was born on 30th of October, 1956 as the third child of late Mr and Mrs Daniel Anakor of Urukpaleke village in Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. Her late father was a Chief Accountant and former Secretary of the Igbo Union in Kano state in the early 1950s and her mother was a successful business woman.

She attended St. John’s Primary School Otu-Obosi, Onitsha in Anambra state. After her primary education in 1970, she went on to attend Girls High School, Awkunanaw, Enugu for her secondary education.

In the year 1975, she got married to Late Chief Reuben Oba Nkwocha, Ide Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri. They were blessed with six children namely: Barrister Mrs. Odera Ibik, Prince Ekene Nkwocha, Barrister Mrs. Mukosolu Eziefe, Chinelo Nkwocha, Engr. Onyeka Nkwocha and Ogochukwu Nkwocha of blessed memory. Her dedication to her family was unwavering as provided them with a solid sense of stability, love, unity and strong christian values. She was a kind and loving partner to her husband as well as an amazing mother to her children and grandchildren.

Due to her undaunted love for education, she decided to further her education by pursuing her higher learning at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu state where she studied Business Administration and Management and graduated in 1980. She went on to bag a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and a Master of Business Administration, MBA in Banking and Finance from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. These efforts paid off as she got employed by the Cooperative and Commerce Bank of Nigeria (CCB) where she rose to a top managerial position. She was loved by many of her colleagues and was known for her sheer doggedness, transparency and accountability throughout her service with the bank.

Chief Mrs Nkwocha was a fervent Christian who devoted not just her life but also her resources to the service of God Almighty. She found joy in sharing with others especially the poor and regularly visited the sick in hospitals, offset the bills of those who cannot afford to pay and also visited motherless babies’ homes with gift items.

She was a committed member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu and also a prominent member of the All Christian Practical Praying Band (ACPPB) where she was a female Apostolic Leader until her demise. She was also an executive member of the Women Council of the Band and the Women Leader of Abakpa branch of the Band. The Women Ministry of the organization honored her with an Award of Excellence last July in acknowledgement of her hard work and dedication. Her life philosophy was that “A life well spent is a life devoted to service for God”.

Her last days were spent harmoniously with her loved ones -children, grandchildren and siblings.
