A new family was formed as Onyinyechi Jane Francis Ezurike and Ugonna Deodatus Nwaokwu walked down the aisle to tie the nuptial knot and exchange marital vows, in the presence of families, friends and high-profile guests.
The event held at Assumpta Cathedral Owerri was witnessed by family members and friends.
In a homily while joining the couple in holy matrimony, the officiating priest Monsignor Professor Francis Nwachukwu, advised the couple to cling to one another and love themselves unconditionally.
In an interview, the groom Mr. Ugonna Nwaokwu who expressed gratitude to God for actualizing his dream, promised to be committed to each other in love.
On her part, the bride Mrs Onyinyechi Nwaokwu thanked God for the success of the event, advised singles to choose their life partner in accordance to God’s will through prayers.
In their separate speeches, the bride’s parents Engineer Festus Ezurike and Lady Clara Ezurike thanked God for the event, and advised the couple to respect one another, put God first in all they do, urging them not to allow third party interference in their home even as they prayed God to bless the union.
Contributing, the groom’s uncle Mr Livinus Nwaonyima expressed satisfaction that their son Ugonna has found his missing rib, urging them to tolerate themselves.
Adding their voices, some relatives and friends, including Reverend Father Emmanuel Anyansi, Mr Chimezie Stanly, Mr Justice Ifeanyi, Lady Patricia Onuoka, Mrs. Ezeruoha Chinwe advised the couple to toe their parents’ footsteps and imitate the family of Joseph and Mary and prayed God to strengthen their union.
The event attracted a college of priests and dignitaries including Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs ABS, Mrs. Miriam Chukwuma among others.
Cutting of cake, signing of marriage register, and bridal dance attended at the event.
