The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anagor, says security of live and property will continue to top the priority of his administration.
Speaking at the council secretariat shortly after receiving a certificate of integrity stewardship award as service ambassador from a non-governmental organization, “Advocacy for Peace and Values Reorientation”, Mr. Anagor commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for giving him the opportunity to contribute his quota and ideas in his government.
Mr. Anagor, who said that Awka South Local Government Area under his watch will continue to maintain its standards as the local government in the capital city, commended members of the transition committee, management and staff of the local government area for their support and cooperation, calling for its sustenance.
The Awka South Local Government Area boss, who said that creating a favourable working environment motivates workers more than payment of salaries, reassured of providing more conducive environment for workers in the local government area; in line with the policy thrust of the Soludo administration, and charged workers in the local government area to continue taking their work seriously, as according to him, his administration has zero tolerance for truancy.
He thanked the “Advocacy for Peace and Values Reorientation” for finding him worthy of the award, and said that the honour will spur him to do more work for the service of God and humanity.
Presenting the Award, the Executive Director of “Advocacy for Peace and Values Reorientation” Abuja, Comrade Abubakar Oyibo, said that the group has been following the activities and leadership style of the TC Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, and found him worthy to be honored with certificate of integrity stewardship award as service ambassador.
According to Comrade Oyibo, Mr. Anagor has continued to restore confidence in local government administration by making integrity his watchword.
Comrade Oyibo used the opportunity to call on those occupying various positions to create a bright prospect for the teeming youths to divert their minds from crime and restiveness, describing them as future leaders.
He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for all his developmental strides in Anambra State, as well as all his programmes and policies aimed at improving the living standards of the people, and called for prayers to enable him continue to deliver on his mandate.
In a vote of thanks, the Deputy Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr. Ikechukwu Anene, who described Mr. Anagor as a sincere man; who always believes in a team work, pointed out that the honour is well deserved.
Present during the ceremony were the Head of Local Government Administration in Awka South, Mrs. Rita Obuekwe, Head of Personnel Management, Dr Ego Okeke, and some friends of the Transition Committee Chairman, including the Assistant Governor of Rotary International District 9142, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS.
