Asphalting has commenced on the Ezira Umuomaku-Enuguumuonyia-Achina road.

 

When ABS arrived the site, men of TAMAD construction company, the firm handling the project were seen laying asphalt on one side of the road from kilometer one towards Enugu-Umuonyia.

Other heavy-duty equipment like roller were seen leveling the asphalt and sprinkling water on it at the same time.

 

Speaking to the ABS, the resident Engineer from the Ministry of Works, Engineer Stanley Enike said that the meters wide road has drain to drain asphalt.

Engineer Enike said that the drainage is eighty centimeters depth and one meter top, noting that the contractor is moving fast to cover the one point five meters already primed.

 

He added that stone base has been completed up to kilometer five and is continuing till the Achina end of the road.

Engineer Anike said that the nine-point four kilometers road was supposed to be completed by the end of this month but for the rain which lasted till the end of November, they will complete the road by early February 2024.
