Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, in the company of other governors’ wives from the thirty-six states of the federation, was in attendance at a meeting organized by the first lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The one-day event which was held in the conference room of the Office of the First Lady, State House, Abuja, provided another avenue for the governors’ wives and the president’s wife to deliberate on topics of mutual concern, including how they can play better roles in good governance.

The host, Senator Tinubu, in her remarks, commended the guests for the role that each of them is playing in their respective positions to promote good governance, pointing out that it is time for women to show stronger commitment to issues that affect them in governance.

She commended them for providing immense support to their spouses and for standing in the front of the move to reposition Nigeria.

The president’s wife also tasked the governors’ wives to take more action in addressing primary social issues by mobilizing stakeholders to support each campaign.

The major highlight of the event was the investiture of Senator Tinubu as the Grand Patron of the National Council of Women Societies, NCWS.

Recall that a few months ago, Mrs. Soludo was also investitured as the patron of NCWS in Anambra State.
