Commendations have continued to trail Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s twenty-thousand-naira cash award to the Anambra state civil servants.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, the president, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Anambra State chapter, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe said that Governor Soludo has shown that he is a compassionate leader.
Comrade Adigwe who further said that the Governor has set a precedent for other governors to follow, maintained that the cash award at a critical time like this is worthy of commendation.
He disclosed that NULGE Anambra chapter is happy with what Governor Soludo has done to the State Civil Servants and called on other governors to emulate the Anambra state government’s wonderful disposition towards its workers.
According to Comrade Adigwe, the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government has dealt with the economic status of the country, and has equally doubled the inflation rate in Nigeria, thereby making life uncomfortable for those whose salaries are fixed, especially the civil servants.
The Anambra NULGE boss charged government at all levels to start thinking outside the box and altering equations to ensure that new meaningful and practicable ideas are being implemented to save poor and vulnerable Nigerians from an untold hardship.
Comrade Adigwe pointed out that the union will always commend the government when they do well but will not hesitate to reprimand them where they fall short of workers expectations for a better working relationship.
