Hundreds of indigent men, women, children and youths converged on Saint Mathew’s Catholic Church podium, Amawbia, for the twenty-fourth edition of the annual Christmas party for the poor organized by Lovecare for the Needy Foundation.

 

Participants drawn from various parts of Anambra state, medical officers, Red Cross officials, supporters of the foundation were in attendance at the Christmas party.

The organizer of the programme, Mr Okey Ojiako popularly known as “Ifeomamebe” said the programme is a call born out of passion for the needy which began in his university days, adding that he has been enjoying affecting people with life-changing teachings.

 

He explained that the Lovecare for the Needy Foundation is the parent body of “Sharing life issues with Ifeomamebe”, which he anchors on ABS radio and appreciated God, ABS MD, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, Reverend Father Mike Onwukaike and numerous others who contributed to the success of the programme.

In a talk on health, Magistrate Kenneth Nwoye told the participants signs of sickness to include too much body pains, loss of memory, blood in the stool which he said can be a sign of cancer or ulcer noting that people’s sickness starts and ends with food.

 

He advised people to avoid disease-causing foods like modified foods but embrace life-giving foods like natural foods.

During testimony time, one of the beneficiaries of the foundation, Mr Ebuka Mbonu who was framed up and spent thirteen years at the Maximum prison in Enugu as a condemned criminal, recounted his ordeals in prison before God came through for him using Ifeomamebe adding that anyone who has God as his life’s anchor has nothing to fear.

 

For Evangelist Ijeoma Okoye, these days women have strength to give birth to children but lack the strength to train them properly and urged them to endeavour to train their children to fulfil their divine purpose.

Dr Ifeoma Okoli, a visually impaired woman, asked parents not to write off their physically challenged children rather to encourage and support them, nothing that such people can turn out to be light in their families even as she called on individuals, groups and governments to stop giving fishes to the physically challenged persons but to teach them how to fish.

 

Others who spoke during the event were, Dr Chinasa Eze of Jireh Eye Clinic, Awka, Reverend Father Ositadimma Amakaeze of Saint Mathew’s Catholic church Amawbia, the President, Catholic Women Organization of the church, Mrs Njideka Gbuogu and Mr Vincent Aforka .
