Some major stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Onitsha South Local Government Area recently joined the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mrs Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche in a walk through the roads constructed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the area.
The exercise which was tagged “A walk with the Commissioner through the Governor’s road construction sites” kicked off at Moore Street by Venn Road Odoakpu, through Kano Street, Haruna Street, Niger Street to Bridge Head axis of Ogbo-osisi and Port-Harcourt Road to Silas works Road.
All the roads walked through were fully completed with drainage channels and pedestrian walkways.
Speaking to the ABS after the walk, Mrs Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche said she was amazed at the quality and number of roads constructed in the area within a short period.
The Commissioner stated that she had expected to cover up the roads within some minutes but rather walked for over two hours and extolled Governor Soludo for giving the area a face lift.
Others who spoke to the ABS, including the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, Chief Tony Nwora and Barrister Anthonia Tabansi-Okoye appreciated Governor Soludo for his good work in the area and the state in general.
The Transition Committee Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Mr Emeka Orji and his Onitsha North counterpart, Mr Onochie Ozoma were also present during the event.
