Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has visited more children’s homes in continuation of her Christmas tour to all the children’s homes and nursing homes in the state.

The Governor’s wife visited three facilities in Onitsha to bring to eight the total number of children’s homes and special needs centres visited so far among the thirty-nine she plans to visit before Christmas.

The three homes visited were Onitsha South Motherless Babies Home, Gift of Mercy Community Children’s Home, Onitsha, and Onitsha North Community Children’s Home.

Speaking at the homes, Mrs Soludo explained that her intention was to meet with all the children in such homes in Anambra State and ensure that they also get the feel of Christmas.

She noted that for her, spending time with such people is the only thing that matters about the celebration, emphasizing that the joy of Christmas is in spreading love, friendship, and compassion.

The Anambra Governor’s wife equally reaffirmed her appeal to people to use this period to put smiles on the faces of those in need, with the understanding that love does not have to be big to be effective.

Speaking in one of the homes, Mrs Rita Anekwe, who is the Education and Social Development Officer of Onitsha North Local Government Area and the Manager in the Onitsha North Children’s Home, described Mrs Soludo’s visit as a welcome development and urged other people to emulate the gesture.

The Governor’s wife was joined in the visits by the Deputy Woman Leader of APGA in Anambra State, Mrs Chinwe Umerie, the Governor’s daughter, Ms. Adaora Soludo, among others.
