Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo has reiterated that women hold the key to Nigeria’s political and economic prosperity but have to work together to make it happen.

 

Mrs. Soludo stated this when women leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA party from states across the country visited her at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.

Addressing the party women, the governor’s wife praised them for leading transformational mobilization of women in the party in their respective states, and for showing leadership in their positions.

 

She described APGA as a political party driven by humanism and conscience for the place of the common people, the same political pattern that is currently in rule in Anambra State.

Mrs. Soludo while stressing that women can champion the much-needed good governance in Nigeria, noted that for that to occur, they have to work together for most genuine interest starting from their families.

 

Earlier in her remarks, the APGA National Women Leader, Barrister Elizabeth Nwokocha, who led the women, said that the visit was to show solidarity to governor’s wife who has been very supportive of her husband’s administrative breakthroughs.

She described Governor Soludo as a leader with great foresight, who has achieved so much withing a short time in office, and stressed that the party will continue to support him to succeed.

 

The women also used the visit to commiserate with the governor’s wife over the demise of her father-in-law who will be laid to rest later this week.

Wife of the deputy governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Oluchi Ibezim, that of the National Chairman of APGA, Mrs. Amara Ezeokenwa, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, the deputy women leader of APGA in Anambra State, Mrs. Chinwe Umerie, among others, were present during the visit.
