Five persons have been collated Archdeacons, two others installed Canons and eight persons invested Knights of Saint Christopher and Ladies in the Diocese of Niger West.

Before the collation, installation and Investiture, the candidates took various oaths of their commitment to God, the Bishop and the Diocese.

Performing the function at the Cathedral Church of Saint Gabriel Umueri, the Bishop of the Diocese, Right Reverend Johnson Ekwe advised them to diligently do the work of God to the best of their ability, reminding them that their elevation is not just taking of title and decoration but a call to duty as they have received fresh anointing to perform better in ensuring that the kingdom of God is advanced and souls are won, so that the Diocese will grow through their ministry to the glory of God.

Bishop Ekwe charged the Knights to see their investiture as a call for service to God and humanity, urging them to join hands with the Diocese in evangelizing the area for the growth of the Diocese.

Delivering a sermon, the Retreatant from the Diocese of Nsukka, Venerable Professor Collins Ugwu reminded the Archdeacons and Canons that their collation and installation is not for them to brag about but to see themselves as Moses that will lead the children of God to the promise Land and charged Christians to be worthy of their calling.

Some of the candidates, including Reverend Canon Osita Ezechi who was made Archdeacon and a new Knight of St Christopher, Sir Amobi Ikeora thanked God for his grace and Bishop Ekwe for finding them worthy and promised to serve to the best of their ability.

Taking of oaths, decoration of the candidates, installation and collation, presentation of certificates, praises and thanksgiving formed the highlights of the service.
