Thirty-five persons have received succour as Born-Again Christian Association of Nigeria, Awka Branch organized 2023 welfare package programme in Awka.
The event held at Holy Ghost Ministries, Amaenyi, Awka had huge number of members of the association in attendance and featured series of prayers, praises and worship, as well as special numbers and choir rendition.
In a sermon, the National President of Born-Again Christian Association Nigeria, Reverend Emmanuel Nwakasi who spoke on the topic, “When Did We See You?”, encouraged Christians not to give up in helping the needy as commanded by Jesus Christ in order to receive enormous blessings that follow arms giving and reminded them that they will encounter grateful and ungrateful people in the course of the ministry of arms giving.
In a remark, the National Vice President of the association and the President of BACANA, Evangelist Ugochukwu Nwanya who said that the group is only after winning souls for Christ, regretted the level at which Christians are most times persecuted and forced by traditionalists in some communities to do things that contradict their believes demanding that such maltreatment of the Christians should stop as according to him, there is freedom of worship in Nigeria.
Evangelist Nwanya called on Christians in Awka that have not identified with the group to do so, and explained that the members of the association have their gathering every first Sunday of the month, after service, at Holy Ghost Ministries along Zik’s Avenue, Amaenyi- Awka.
For the eldest man in the association aged one hundred and four, Apostle Rufus Nnebe, members of the Association should be more united and make Jesus Christ known in all the nooks and crannies of the world, and as well often live Christlike life capable of drawing people into the kingdom of God.
In separate speeches, some of the beneficiaries of the welfare package, including Pastor Ikechukwu Ejike and Mrs. Phoebe Mezie thanked the leadership and members of the group for remembering and supporting them, describing the gesture as one that truly symbolizes the love of Christ amongst them, and prayed God to bless and keep the association and its members.
