A Lagos based business executive Chief Jonathan Nzekwe says 2024 holds a bright prospect for Nigeria.

 

Speaking on his expectations for the New year 2024, Chief Nzekwe called on Nigerians to forget the experiences of the passing year especially the Cash scarcity and hike in price of essential commodities which he said seemed to have made lives unbearable for the masses.

 

He described the outgoing year 2023 as one that came with many challenges, and expressed the hope that with fervent prayers, hard work by Nigerians and friendly government policies, the coming year 2024 will be favourable to the citizenry.

 

Chief Nzekwe who is a community leader in Awka, applauded the gradual revitalization of the Nation’s ailing refineries beginning with the one at Port Harcourt which has commenced operation, saying that the era of Nigeria refining its crude oil abroad will soon be over.

 

Describing Nigeria as a country that is richly blessed, Chief Nzekwe called for the proper harnessing of both human and material resources for the benefit of all the six geopolitical Zones of Nigeria.

 

He called for the adherence to the federal character principles in giving political appointments and in the appointment of Judges to ensure that every region is well represented in the interest of equity and justice.

 

Chief Nzekwe harped on the need for the federal government to create more employment opportunities for the teeming youths next year to secure a bright future for them with a view to diverting their minds from crime and restiveness.

 

On Anambra State, Chief Nzekwe extolled the giant strides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo especially in the area of road Infrastructure and human capital development, which he said are indications that the governor came prepared to serve the people.

 

He thanked the governor for restoring the glory of traditional institutions in Anambra State especially in Awka Community and charged Ndigbo to always take pride in their language and culture to save it from going into extinction.

 

The Awka Born business executive, called on Ndi Anambra living in the diaspora, to join hands with Governor Chukwuma Soludo in developing the state by bringing part of their investments home.
