The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has challenged youths to invest the data, time and resources to advance their talents and skills.

Mrs Soludo gave the charge during the graduation ceremony of over one hundred and seventy-six youths trained in different skill areas by a nongovernmental organisation, Dalchi Foundation at the skills acquisition centre, Umueze Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The Dalchi Foundation Skills Acquisition Centre was set up by the foundation to train and empower youths, the less privileged, people living with disabilities, and women to become self-reliant and also train others.

Mrs Soludo accompanied by the founder of the foundation, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha-MBA and his Health counterpart Dr. Afam Obidike witnessed the hand-over of the start-up kits to the graduands according to skills they learnt.

Mrs. Soludo commended Dalchi Foundation for supporting the state government’s vision to guarantee the youth of the state brighter future.

 

Revealing the vision behind the foundation, Engineer Ezenwanne said that the foundation is his family’s way of thanking God for his numerous blessings and protection.

Engineer Ezenwanne explained that skills are today’s guarantee of self-reliance despite one’s academic achievements which he said inspired the foundation to find means to help the beneficiaries become meaningful members of the society.

 

Commissioner Agha-Mba on his part, thanked the founder of the NGO for aligning with the state government’s vision and mission in human capital development and assured him of the cooperation and support of the state government.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Manager of Dalchi Foundation Skills Acquisition Centre, Mrs Peace Nwachukwu said the event marks the second anniversary of the foundation and explained that the beneficiaries were trained in different departments which included computer, tailoring, leather works, catering, hair dressing, knitting, decoration and cosmetology.
