Shouts of joy and jubilation filled the air as Christians converged on different churches to usher in the new year, 2024.

 

Many attended crossover nights where prayers were offered for God’s favour, blessings and sufficient grace to navigate through 2024.

Prayers for peaceful Anambra State and Nigeria were also offered to reduce the levels of hardships, killings, bloodshed and kidnapping so that the society will be a better place to live.

 

The Archdeacon, On the Lake Archdeaconry and Vicar, Saint Stephens Anglican Church Agulu, Venerable Silas Ike said that it is by the grace of God that people entered into the new year and there is need for Christians to do away with anything that does not please God, so as to have God’s glory all through the year.

Venerable Ike harped on the need for all to rededicate themselves to God, extend succor to the needy and worship God through prayers all through the year.

 

In a sermon at Saint Marks Anglican Church, Enugwu-Agidi, the Vicar, Venerable Dr Nnamdi Emendu stated that in 2024, Christians should endeavor to follow Christ and walk according to his precepts and cautioned every Christians to eschew evils and unholy life.

At Saint John’s Parish, Enugwu-Agidi, the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Martins Onyeka said that the universal church celebrates the solemnity of Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, stating that God prepared her as a vessel through which his son will come in human body and were born holy so as to redeem the world.
