Nze Ezeakunne Foundation has empowered four persons with four shuttle buses, gave out bags of rice to the less privileged members of Onneh community as well as commissioned Ezeakunne Bus Terminal in Onneh, in the celebration of yuletide.

 

The empowerment exercise which is an annual event took place at the residence of the founder of the foundation, Nze Vincent Nwankwo at Umuezeamasi village, Onneh Orumba South council area and attracted members of the four villages that make up Onneh community, friends and associates of Nze Nwankwo.

The beneficiaries of the shuttle buses were selected from the four villages in the community.

 

The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local government area, Prince Neville Uchendu said that Chief Nwankwo and people like him , are living a life that Governor Chukwuma Soludo admires by putting smiles on the faces of the people through empowerment which he noted, is the greatest thing one can do for a human being and urged him not to relent.

Prince Uchendu noted that when people are empowered, they would be discouraged from engaging in vices and crime, adding that Orumba South council area is one of the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Soludo’s administration.

 

Responding, the founder of the Foundation, Chief Nwankwo disclosed that his reason for carrying out good deeds is because doing good has rewards and advised people to endeavour to emulate good deeds, shun evil which he said has terrible consequences in and after life and admonished beneficiaries of his annual largesse to put it to judicious use, even as he encouraged those who did not benefit not to lose hope as their turn will come some other time.

For the childhood friend of Chief Nwankwo, Comrade Austin Nwafor, the empowerment exercise is an annual event which the benefactor has been doing over the years by giving hope to the hopeless.

 

The National President of Ultima Business Women and Farmers Association of Nigeria, Lady Nkiru Nwagbo said that Onneh community is blessed to have a man like Chief Nwankwo that has a liberal heart and noted that the prayers of mothers and those he is impacting on their lives will keep protecting him.

Some of the beneficiaries of the shuttle buses and rice, including Messers Nnaemeka Obijiofor, Ndubisi Nsofor, MC Chuks, Paulinus Ojukwu, Mrs. Juliana Nwafor and Mrs. Josephine Okafor alongside their friends and family members, were seen jubilating, singing, dancing and appreciating their benefactor for the empowerment.

 

Later the benefactor, accompanied by the TC Chairman of the council area, Prince Uchendu and others commissioned the newly built Ezeakunne Bus Terminal.

 

Presentation of the shuttle buses, bags of rice and the commissioning of the bus terminal brought the event to a climax.
