Sir Ebuka Okafor Foundation in its usual way of touching lives has organized its 2023 Christmas outreach programme for Widows, children and the down trodden around Anambra state.
Ifunanya Nwankwo reports that the event took place at his country home Ebenesii Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area with church service at All Saints Anglican Church Nnobi followed by medical outreach by the foundation.
Speaking during the event, Wife of the Governor of Anambra state Mrs. Nonye Soludo called for all hands to be on deck in the development of the state, and commended Sir Ebuka Okafor for such an event which she said is in line with the agenda of the present administration.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Mrs. Ify Obinabo underscores the importance of such an event and prayed God to bless him.
The philanthropist Sir Ebuka Okafor expressed gratitude to God for bringing him thus far, identifying the essence of the event as a way of putting smile on the faces of the down trodden in the society.
The wife of the benefactor Mrs. Ginika Okafor a lawyer described Sir Ebuka Okafor as a compassionate man that has the welfare of the people at heart.
In her speech, the co-ordinator, Sir Ebuka Okafor Foundation Mrs. Blessing Nweke listed various programmes of the foundation to include distribution of food items to widows, taking care of their health needs and the educational needs of their children as well as women empowerment.
Earlier in his sermon at All Saints Anglican Church Nnobi, the Vicar of the church Reverend Canon Augustine Ikechukwu who spoke extensively on the benefits of thanksgiving noted that it brings about unusual miracles and admonished Christians to return to God and desist from idolatry.
Members of Nigeria Police, Traditional Ruler of Nnobi Igwe Nick Obi among others attended the event.
Distribution of bags of food items, drugs and wrappers among others to the widows and children featured at the event that has over three thousand widows within and outside the state in attendance.
