Descendants of Ezeawulu village Nibo, in Awka South Local Government Area, recently rolled out their drums in celebration of Ezeawulu Day.

 

The event held at the village also featured opening of their village hall.

The event which was attended by Umu Ezeawulu both at home and in the diaspora and reports that a lot of activities featured at the event including age grade outing and presentation of certificate, masquerade displays among others.

 

In an address, the Chairman of Ezeawulu village, Chief Samuel Okafor said they always celebrate Ezeawulu day to thank God for life and blessings on them and their children.

While noting that they are the first village in Nibo to start and finish a village hall, Chief Okafor explained that it was achieved through a communal effort, appreciating all who contributed to the completion of the project.

 

The chairman on the occasion Chief Innocent Akuvue said he was very impressed with the milestone the new chairman of the village achieved noting that it shows that there is unity and peace in the village, urging them not to relent.

In their Separate speeches, some stakeholders in the community Chiefs Kodilinye Okelekwe and Anthony Omeligwe Elee added that the peace and progress in the village started existing during the time of their fore fathers and will continue to generations yet unborn, even as they said that they will always be the best and lead by example as the oldest of the four villages in Nibo.

The Chairman of the Ezeawulu Day organizing committee, Mr Emenike Nwalor and Secretary Mr Afamefuna Obunike said that organizing such an event is not an easy task but thanked God that it was successful.
