Awka Anglican Diocese, the people of Nawfia community, family, friends and well-wishers recently in their numbers pay their last respects to Late Lady Gold-Noel Okpalo.

 

Saint Micheal’s and All Angels Anglican Church, Nawfia, venue of the funeral service was filled to capacity as the House of Bishops and Clergy, Council of Knights and laity of the church bid farewell to Lady Gold-Noel.

The burial service commenced with a procession of mourners including the former Senator Representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife, the traditional ruler of Nawfia, Igwe, Daniel Obelle and dignitaries from different religious denominations and government officials.

The Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim said that Lady Gold-Noel was deep-rooted in her faith in God and unwavering commitment to serving others, describing her as a guiding light within the Anglican community.

Archbishop Ibezim, while condoling with the family, thanked God for the legacies left by the deceased and her commitment to education, Christian leadership, and development.

 

In a brief recount of the times of the deceased, her husband, Sir Nnaemeka Okpalo while listing the values and qualities possessed by his late wife, revealed that the deceased was a blessing to him that unlocks his achievements through her hard work and dedication to God and asked the youths to be rooted in the things of God and as well, ask questions before getting married to achieve and unlock God’s given mandate for them.

In their various condolence messages, the President General, Building Materials International Market Ogidi, Chief Jude Nwankwo and Nzubechukwu Uba from Queens Convent Awka said that the legacies of Late Lady Gold-Noel will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of the Anglican Church in the community as her son, Venerable David Okpalo and daughter in-law Mrs. Uju Ezewuisi have continued to make profound impact on the lives of those around them.

In his appreciation message, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Emeka Okpalo, expressed gratitude to all who supported and graced the ceremony, praying to God to lead them back to their destinations as he promised to continue to maintain the peace and legacies his late mum was known for.

The church resounded with soul-stirring melodies as the congregation celebrated the life and times of Lady Gold-Noel Okpalo followed by interment and condolence visits.
