The remains of Late Pa Robinson Okafor have been laid to rest at Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

 

Born on 24th August 1934 as the fourth son of the famous Ezubunwa Gunujeme Okafor Onyemelukwe of the Ezeliora royal family of Nnewi, Pa Robinson started his early education at African Church Elementary School Nnewi, and completed his standard six in 1946 at Central School, Nkwo, Nnewi.

 

Due to financial constraints, he was unable to further his education, reason he veered into business apprenticeship which was popular then, and had many success stories.

 

At his funeral service at Saint Christopher’s Anglican Church, Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi, the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Right Reverend Ndubuisi Obi and Venerable Benson Okeke advised the living to always prepare to die and meet God at His judgement seat, and described Pa Robinson as one who spent his life and time serving God and humanity.

 

Speaking after internment, a daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Ogechukwu Onwujiobi, nee Okafor, and the son in-law to the deceased, Mr. Arinze Onwujiobi, said Pa Robinson was a good man and a peace maker who would be missed so much, but promised to hold on to his legacies.

 

 

The Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor Dame Virgy Etiaba and members of Young Men Christian Association, led by Sir Joel Onukwube joined numerous others in commiserating with the son, Pharmacist Nnamdi Okafor, and other family members of the deceased.
