In a heartwarming reunion, members of the Alumni Association of Comprehensive Secondary School Nawfia, Class of 1997, have gathered at Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State for a thanksgiving service, sliver jubilee celebration and annual general meeting.

 

The service was for the members of the class to thank God for their shared years and enduring experiences from their time at the school.

 

In his sermon during the thanksgiving service, Venerable Benjamin Nwokocha charged the congregation not to overlook the significance of gratitude, describing it as a powerful force that brings light to the darkest corners of one’s life, even as he underscored the pivotal role of faith, community and reflection in fostering a sense of appreciation among believers.

 

Speaking shortly after the service, the Vice President of the association, Mr. Friday Egene, said that Old Boys Association is a platform to give back to one’s school, connect and contributing to the ongoing success of their alma mater.

 

He pledged to uphold the legacy of excellence, honour the bonds that connect them, and ensure that the Old Boys Association of Comprehensive Secondary School Nawfia will remain a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.

 

Mr. Egene commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration for changing the name of the school to Comprehensive Technical School, Nawfia, describing it as a positive development.

 

During the annual general meeting, the President of the Old Boys Association, Class of 1997, Mr Johnbosco Gbulie, who addressed the gathering through a phone call, said the gathering serves as an evidence of the enduring spirit of the CSS Nawfia Old Boys Association and its dedication to nurturing a supportive and thriving community.

 

He emphasized that reflecting on their twenty-five years of collective history, the CSS Nawfia old boys remain steadfast in their commitment to achieving a more promising future for members of their association, ensuring a positive influence on the lives of those both within and beyond their community.

 

In an interview, the Public Relations Officer of the association, Engineer Paul Okoye, affirmed their commitment to excellence and dedication to service, and pledged to act as catalysts for positive change, not only within their association, but also in the broader communities they serve.

 

The event featured cutting of the silver jubilee cake and dance by members of the association.
