A business magnate and philanthropist from Ndiowu Community, Orumba Northern Local Government Area, Dr. Joseph Onuorah has extolled Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his socioeconomic giant strides in less than two years in office.

Dr. Onuorah who made this known while speaking to newsmen recently, commended the Governor for his innovative leadership style which he said has changed the economic landscape of Anambra state positively since he assumed office, despite the harsh economic situation in Nigeria.

The Ndiowu born philanthropist noted that so many palliative measures initiated by Governor Soludo geared towards cushioning the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, which not only captured the people in the formal sector, but also covers those in the informal sector have scaled up social security in the state.

He maintained that the free basic education, free antenatal and delivery for mothers, reduction in the payment of taxes and levies, exclusion of petty traders from the payment of taxes and levies, employment of thousands of teachers, as well as the entrepreneurial training and empowerment of five thousand youths with seed money among others, are some of the achievements of the Soludo administration that will remain indelible in the hearts of Ndi Anambra.

Dr. Onuorah therefore appealed to the Anambra state government to remember his community in the scheme of things, especially on the infrastructural developments, and construct one of the key roads that will change the fortunes of the town, which is the Oko-Ndiowu-Ufuma-Akpu-Ajalli road.

According to the philanthropist, the road was first awarded under the late Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju administration and was abandoned, re-awarded under the immediate past administration in the state, but only some parts of the drainage works were done.

He lamented that the drainage work is now under the threat of erosion across the entire length of the road, saying that the road if completed by Governor Soludo, will explode the economic fortunes of the agrarian communities in Agbata- Ndiowu, Aboh Ihuana among others as demand will meet supply, there by generating economic prosperity.
