Mr and Mrs Cyprian Nwankworji have celebrated their golden jubilee marriage anniversary in grand style at Omogho, Orumba Nort; h Local Government Area.
The celebration began with a Holy Mass at Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic Church, Omogho.
In a Homily, Reverend Father Fidelis Ugozor urged the congregation to always do the will of God to create a positive change in the society.
He also stressed the need for Christians to remain steadfast in their faith stressing the importance of true worship of God which he said has an overall positive influence on families and communities.
Speaking to the ABS, Mr. Cyprian Nwankworji while expressing gratitude to God stated that he was overwhelmed by the show of love from his children, relatives, friends and well-wishers and regretted that many wedded couples no longer keep their marital vow while maintaining that the grace of God has sustained them and also that their golden jubilee anniversary affords them the opportunity to celebrate the presence of God in marriage institution.
Their children, Mrs Onyinye Okoli and her younger sister, Mrs Judith Okafor, prayed that God will grant them good health and long life to enjoy more of the blessings to come.
On her part, the younger sister to Mr. Cyprian, Reverend Sister Rose Nwankworji stated that the brother is a peacemaker, a God-fearing Man and a responsible husband and father filled with compassion and love.
Also, the first son of the couple Chief Uchenna Okoli appreciated God for his parents stating that the anniversary calls for a joyful celebration of the goodness of God upon the family and prayed that God will continue to sustain their union to enable them celebrate more happy and successful years together.
The anniversary celebration also featured cutting of the cake and special dance by the couple as well as other musical performance and cultural displays by different band groups and masquerades.
The traditional ruler of Omogho, Igwe Rapheal Offor, Business Associates and Umuada Omogho, amongst others attended the event.
