Primary school Heads in Anambra State have been urged to furnish government with accurate data to enable it bridge the gap in number of teachers in schools.
The Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Dr Vera Nwadinobi gave the charge during a critical meeting with headteachers and other education officers at the ASUBEB hall in Awka.
Dr Nwadinobi reiterated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is committed to transforming the education sector and he needs correct data to guide him in the posting of new teachers in some of the schools where there is disparity in the number of teachers and revealed that some schools have more teachers than they need while some have less.
She added that the data which will be sent to the board on monthly basis by the headteachers will include the number of teachers, pupils, vacant classrooms in their schools, among others.
Dr Nwadinobi charged teachers in public mission schools to always abide by the rules and regulations guiding schools in Anambra State.
In her contribution, the Director Quality Assurance, of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Lady Stella Ezepue commended the headteachers for attending meetings whenever they are called.
Headteachers from the six education zones of the state were in attendance including ASUBEB Permanent Member One, Mrs Ifeyinwa Anatune, Permanent Member Two, Dr Kanayo Chukwurah, Permanent Member Three, Lady Chinyere Azodo, and other directors.
