The burial rites of the late Mrs Anthonia Nwakudu have been held in her husband compound Okpuno-Etiti, Abo-Oji Village, Oba in Idemili South Council Area of Anambra state.

 

The Late Mrs Nwakudu was the mother-in-law of Ngozi Ike-Nwaka of Programs Department, Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS, who died at the age of ninety-seven.

Members of Anambra Broadcasting service ABS, were present at the event to commiserate with their own Mrs Ike-Nwaka.

 

The event, a carnival sought of a celebration of life attracted In-laws, friends, Well-wishers relatives, among other high-profile dignitaries who came to pay their last respect to the deceased.

In his homily, the officiating priest, Reverend Father Cain Maria Onuora advised the congregation to assess their lives and live in accordance with God’s Commandments as they will be like the dead someday, pointing out that death is an inevitable price every living soul must pay.

 

The Clergy recalled that through baptism, man died with Christ and will rise with him on the resurrection morning, calling on the bereaved family to toe their mother’s footsteps.

Speaking to the ABS, the sons of the deceased Messrs Obiora Nwakudu and Ikechukwu Nwaka described their late mother as a courageous and hard-working woman who instilled the spirit of responsibility in them calling on their siblings to maintain peace and unity so as to carry on the good legacies their mother left behind.

 

The daughter of the deceased, Mrs Roseline Ako expressed gratitude to God for the success of the event, describing her mother as a kind and generous woman, a pace setter and a go getter while praying God to grant her soul eternal rest.

Her daughters-in-law, Mrs Mary Nwakudu, Mrs Ngozi Ike Nwaka and Mrs Ifeoma Nwakudu described their mother in-law as a compassionate and hard-working woman and called on the family members to maintain peace and unity to uphold the good legacies their late mother left behind.

 

Others who bore testimony of good life lived by the late Mrs Nwakudu include her grandchildren Master Onyekachukwu Nnodebe, Master Ogonna Nwakudu, a relative, Reverend Emmanuel Anosike, Mr Felix Nnamezie among others testified to the charitable life of the late Mrs Nwakudu and prayed to tap from her longevity.

 

Condolence visits by in-laws, Friends and Well-wishers added glamour to the funeral ceremony.
