Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has concluded plans to distribute laptop computers to headteachers of public schools in the state in order to digitize and ease the entire process of submission of data from headteachers.
The Executive Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Associate Professor Vera Nwadinobi, revealed this during a critical meeting with Quality Assurance, Administration and Education Management and Information System Officers from the twenty- one Local Government Education Authorities of the state.
During the meeting, the ASUBEB Chairman warned the officers concerned on prompt collection and submission of data from schools, and reiterated that Governor Soludo is very passionate about basic education, and needs accurate data to achieve his vision.
Associate Professor Nwadinobi also warned that any officer who fails to submit his or her return, including the headteachers, will be sanctioned according to the directive of Mr. Governor.
She further added that Mr. Governor will, in no distant time, provide ICT equipment’s like laptops computers, generators, photocopiers, printers and solar panels for the supply of electricity; to enable officers of Local Government Education Authorities work within the confines of their offices, instead of carrying official works to business centres.
The ASUBEB Chairman encouraged the officers of the Local Government Education Authorities to be agents in ensuring that the Solution Agenda of Mr. Governor in building an excellent educational system of the state is achieved.
The Permanent Board member one, Honourable Ifeyinwa Anatune, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Dr. Uchenna Ezeani, Director Quality Assurance, Lady Stella Ezepue, Director Administration, Ifeoma Okuma, and other staff of ASUBEB were in attendance during the meeting.
