Anambra State Government has commended the State Fire Service for its proactiveness in averting the fire that erupted at Valuation House, Awka.

 

The state government issued the commendation in a press release signed by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Honourable Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche.

 

The Anambra State Fire Service had averted the fire incident which was said to have begun around eleven o’ clock in the morning on Tuesday at a two-story plaza in the area.

 

According to a press statement by the State Fire Chief, Engineer Martins Agbili, the cause of the fire was traced to a power surge.

 

Commending the Anambra State Fire Service, the Special Duties Commissioner said that the proactiveness of the men of the service saved the two-story building that houses many offices and its occupants from unimaginable loss.

 

She conveyed the state government’s commitment to reducing the number of fire incident in the state and attendant losses; in its bid to continue to ensure a liveable and prosperous homeland.

 

Honourable Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche reassured the citizenry of the state government’s preparedness to provide the Anambra State Fire Service with more fire trucks to equ them properly for any of such emergencies, as well as sustain successes being recorded against fire in the state.
