The immediate past member representing Anambra East and West federal constituency, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe has called for increased women participation in politics.
Hon. Obidigwe made this known when the Anambra State women Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mrs. Esther Onyekesi and her entourage paid him a courtesy call in Awka.
Addressing his guests, the lawmaker who said that women play critical roles in politics and societal development, called for more women participation in politics.
While recognizing the importance and place of women in every progressive political journey, Hon. Obidigwe noted that more hands are needed to fully harness the potentials of democracy and pledged to continue to support them at all times.
He further said that APGA remains the only progressive political body with a working organ in Nigeria, and revealed that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has performed creditably well in less than two years in office both in infrastructural development, youth empowerment, job creation amongst others.
The former Federal Lawmaker urged Ndi Anambra to always pray for those in authority and support them for the betterment of the society, and appreciated the efforts of the state Women leader and her team towards the promotion of the party, especially at the grassroots levels.
Earlier, Mrs. Onyekesi who described Hon. Obidigwe as a grassroots politician seeks for his support and partnership to enable them win more people, especially women into the party at the grassroots basis and commended Governor Soludo for his transformation initiative in the State.
