Anambra State has received four prestigious technology awards for its commitment to digital development.
The awards were presented during the ICT peer review session at the eleventh National Council on Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy meeting held in Kano.
At the helm of the meeting was the Minister for Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, while the host was the Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The state achieved the Overall Winner Best State in Digital Technology Development award for scoring the highest in all categories and showcasing its dedication to advancing its digital landscape.
Anambra also won the First Position, Best State in Digital Infrastructure Technology Development award and the First Runner-up in both e-Government Implementation and Digital Technology Human Capital Development.
The awards reflect the strategic vision and execution of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s leadership.
Receiving the awards, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Information Communication Technology Agency, Mr. Fred Agbata, praised the Governor for creating the enabling environment as well as a vision which guides the Agency in line with the ‘Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere’ mantra.
Mr. Agbata, who dedicated the awards to the team at ICT Agency, revealed that the dedication and hard work to the Governor’s vision, as well as co-operation and collaboration of the entire solution team made the awards possible.
He explained that the achievement no doubt reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to technological advancement and the transformative journey being championed in Anambra State.
The awards during the official opening ceremony of the meeting in Kano followed the earlier recognition received during the ICT peer review session; where Anambra’s presentation made by Dr. Florence Idigo, a Director in the State ICT Agency, garnered enthusiastic applause and commendation from industry experts.
Mr. Agbata further stated that Anambra State’s impressive performance highlights its commitment to infrastructure, e-government and human capital development.
