A renowned stakeholder in Orumba South Local Government Area, Honorable Echezona Nwankwo, from Umunze, has joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, amidst jubilation from the people of the area.
Addressing APGA faithful during the event at Umunze, former Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Emeka Sibeudu, described Honourable Nwankwo as a big boost to APGA in Orumba South, and enjoined Ndi Orumba South; irrespective of party affiliations, to join hands with Governor Chukwuma Soludo in moving the state forward.
Chief Sibeudu commended members of APGA Umunze Ward Three for their efforts in mobilizing support for the party, and for producing a personality like Honourable Nwankwo who joined APGA with his supporters, urging other wards in Orumba South to follow suit, as according to him, Orumba South is the home of APGA.
In his speech, the Orumba South Local Government APGA Chairman, Comrade Chike Nwafor, maintained that the new member will add great value to the party in the area in view of his political capacity.
Comrade Nwafor expressed happiness that the efforts of the leaders of APGA in Orumba South, especially the former Deputy of the state are yielding positive results, adding that the unity and commitment of members of APGA in the area are some of the things that attracted Honourable Nwankwo to APGA.
The new entrant, Honourable Ezechona Nwankwo, expressed satisfaction with the warm reception accorded him by APGA stakeholders and faithful in Orumba South, and promised to commit both his time and resources to ensure that APGA in the area grows from strength to strength.
Honourable Nwankwo who called on other well-meaning citizens of Orumba South to support APGA, commended Governor Soludo for his development strides in the state, which he said Orumba South is one of the major beneficiaries, while extolling the APGA National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, and APGA State Chairman, Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye, for the able manner they have continued to pilot the affairs of the party.
The occasion attracted dignitaries including the newly elected President-General of Umunze Progressive Union, Engineer Ezekiel Iheazor, Special Assistant to Governor Soludo, Chief Balak Offor, current and former Deputy Chairmen of the Orumba South, Messrs. Tochukwu Obi and Chukwudi Ugochukwu, as well as Chairman of all APGA ward Chairmen in Orumba South, Mr. Victor Okoli among others.
Highlight of the event was the handing over of APGA membership card to Honourable Nwankwo by the former Deputy Governor, Chief Sibeudu, and Local Government APGA Chairman, Comrade Nwafor.
