The remains of the late Chief Michael Onyedikachukwu Odumodu have been laid to rest at Obinagu Akpu Village Ukpo Dunukofia Local Government Area.

 

The late Chief Odumodu is survived by two sons, having lost his wife during the early part of his marriage and the burial which took place at All Saints Anglican Church, Ukpo attracted the clergy, members of Knight of Saint Paul of the Anglican Communion, extended family members and sympathizers including the traditional ruler of Ukpo, Igwe Robert Eze .

In his sermon, Right Reverend Sam Chukwuka, the emeritus Bishop of Isiukwuato Umunneochi Diocese reminded Christians of the need to be firmly rooted in God, pointing out that Chief Odumodu lived an accomplished life as a Bank Manager, a titled man in his community and a devout Christian, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.

The first son of the deceased, Mr. Chibueze Odumodu explained that their father was a peaceful, honest and loving man while the second son, Mr. Akaolisa Odumodu remarked that their father was a philanthropist , who assisted others in need.

 

Chief Paul Odomodu, an extended family member, said the deceased was a good man, who served the church and the community.

Reading a tribute on behalf of Council of Knights, Diocese of Awka, Anglican Communion, their President Professor Emma Ezenwaji noted that the deceased was a shining star both in his work, religious and community life and will be painfully missed.

 

The late Chief Odumodu who died at the age of sixty-four was a regular analyst on Radio and television programmes of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS.
