Wife of the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Lady Oluchi Ibezim has inaugurated the Njikoka Solution Kitchen for use.

 

Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata reports that the project initiated by Njikoka Local Government Area is aimed at complementing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s effort in alleviating hunger within the State.

 

Situated at the local government secretariat in Abagana, the kitchen aims to provide meals to the underprivileged, impoverished, and vulnerable members of the society.

 

During the inaugural ceremony Lady Oluchi praised the local government Chairman for supporting the governor’s hunger-reduction initiatives and encouraged others to emulate the approach to address societal hunger.

 

She emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the use of natural ingredients for healthy meals in line with the advocacy for healthy living of the wife of the Governor Mrs Nonye Soludo.

 

The Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Chinedu Nwoyein his speech expressed appreciation to Njikoka Local Government’s commitment to assisting the less fortunate individuals and called for its sustainability.

 

The Transition Committee Chairman of Njikoka Local Government, Mr. Clem Aguiyi explained that the initiative aims to provide free meals to five hundred people three days a week, with plans to extend it to one thousand individuals daily.

 

The Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council in Njikoka Local Government Area, Igwe Leonard Eze of Abba community commended the initiative and pledged support for its continued success.

 

The event featured cutting of the ribbon and the presentation of food to the vulnerable.
