The call by Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Ndị Anambra in the diaspora to bring their investments home has continued to bear more fruits as an oil consultant, Dr Chris Anyakora, has set up a chemical manufacturing company, Oxbow Concepts and Resources Limited in Abagana, Njikoka Local Council Area of the State.

 

Chief Anyakora led the Member representing Njikoka Two State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Jude Akpua, the Transition Committee Chairman, Njikoka Council Area, Chief Clem Aguiyi, the traditional ruler of Abagana, Igwe Mbamalu Okeke and members of his cabinet on a facility tour of the factory

Others who joined in the facility tour were community leaders and stakeholders from communities that make up Umu Owelle which are Abagana, Abba, Eziowelle and Nimo, as well as Ndi Umudunu Okwenku in Abagana.

 

The company which is said to be the biggest in Sub-Saharan African when commissioned will be producing, drilling, refining road chemicals with local mineral resources sourced from Abagana.

Igwe Okeke while breaking the kolanut, commended Dr Anyakora for siting the factory in the community, expressing optimism that it will brighten the future of the community.

 

On his part, the State lawmaker, Dr Akpua commended Dr Anyakora for heeding Governor Soludo’s call and noted that the company will not only impact its locality positively but the whole of Anambra State in general and disclosed that with the number of direct and indirect employments it will provide, that it will contribute significantly to fight crime and criminality and promised to support the company in every way possible to succeed.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Njikoka, Chief Aguiyi commended Igwe Okeke for seeing to the resolution of the conflicts between Ndị Abagana and Eziowelle which he said made the siting of the company possible and commended Dr Anyakora for the foresight, adding that it will go a long way to support the state government’s efforts to provide jobs for her teeming population through various programmes and initiatives including the One Youth Two Skills Solution Initiative.

 

While introducing the company, the founder, Dr Anyakora said that upon completion, the company will employ about one thousand youths which is expected to impact on the economic value chain of the area and requested the government to assist them to provide access road and electricity in the area to help the company place Anambra State on the world map.

In their separate speeches, the President General Of Abagana Welfare Union, Chief Ben Okongwu, that of United People Of Abagana In Diaspora, Chief Ogochukwu Oraekie and the Chairman of Umu Owelle, Chief Reward Ugwoji sought support from individuals and organizations , stating that the company will boost the economy of the area and help to reduce crime in the society even as the Councilor of Abagana Ward Four, Mr. Ikechukwu Okunwa pledged that the area will be protected from hoodlums and urged the youths of the community and its environs to see the project as their own.
