The Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo has Intervened and rescued one Happiness Nwafor, an eleven-year-old girl from her madam who brutalized her in Onitsha.

 

The Commissioner who was notified of the incident by Defend Your Rights Foundation quickly swung into action by dispatching her team to the scene.

Speaking to the ABS, miss Nwafor while narrating her ordeal said that she was beaten by her madam one Adachukwu -Okafor for touching her daughter’s body, and revealed that her madam Ada used broken bottle, iron, knife and pestle on her in just two weeks of her staying with her.

 

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect Adachukwu burnt the little girl’s clothes and dropped her off stark naked with her relative Ifeoma Muoghalu.

While speaking at the hospital where she was first rushed to in Ogidi, the girl’s relative Muoghalu, explained that the suspect Adachukwu Okafor boasted that nothing will happen because she is a lawyer and knows how to work her way out and narrated that since the incident happened, the suspect has not been picking her calls, even as she also confirmed that her relative was handed over to her Madam on the fifth of January 2024.

On her part, Commissioner Obinabo lamented over the incident and promised to do everything in her capacity to apprehend the suspect and assured that the present Soludo administration will not rest until justice is served on the matter.

 

As at the time of this report, Miss Nwafor who is visibly in pain has been brought to Awka in an undisclosed hospital where she is receiving treatment.

The suspect Adachukwu who hails from Nkpor is said to be married to an Awka man, and is resident at Igwilo street Akpaka, off Isieke by Actus Dei Schools, Akpaka Onitsha.
