In a bid to further strengthen the growth and development of Amansea community through formidable traditional institution, the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Peter Anigbogu has joined the Ozo society of the community to carry everybody along in leadership.

 

As an apex title in most Igbo communities, Ozo group is indispensable in ensuring peace, stability and progress for any community in addition to being a prestigious title.

The traditional Prime Minister of Amansea, Chief Ifeanyi Nwokike, during the ‘Kpololo Ozo’ event held at the traditional ruler’s Palace at Amansea noted that Ozo title has a high standing in Igbo land and that the traditional ruler is fully identifying with them for the greater good of Amansea community.

Ozo Chinedu Nwosi and Ozo Andrew Okah in their separate remarks explained that to join the Ozo group in Amansea, one must have done the Amawulu, Eku, Ajaghija and Kpololo before finally taking the Ozo title, pointing out also that one must be of good character to be accepted for the title, noting that Igwe Anigbogu joining the group will impact positively and bring a lot of differences.

The event was used to showcase the Amansea cultural heritage, as the oldest Ozo title holder, Ozo Nwafor Ikah who earlier broke the kolanut and decorated Igwe Anigbogu with his Ozo paraphilia presided over the event.

 

Igwe Anigbogu with his Ozo title name ‘Egobueziokwu’ after being decorated with anklets and staff emphasized that his title name depicts being truthful always and being part of Ozo Amansea will bring progress and ensure development for the community.

The traditional ruler of Ugwuoba, Igwe Lawrence Obi, who also graced the event explained that Ozo in Igbo land is earning due respect and a testament of achieving great success, adding that Igwe Anigbogu seeks the progress of his community and should be supported and prayed for.

 

Others who spoke including Chief Nwaneka Nwankwo and Chief Uche Okonkwo explained the place of Ozo in Igbo land and how important it is as a vehicle for progress.

The event which featured firing of the traditional gun, Egwu Ufvie and music performances also had the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim in attendance.
