It was a moment of mixed feelings for the family, friends and relatives of late Dr. Onuoraegbunam Anthony Odita of Umuodiri Obidiogwu of Onitsha ancient kingdom as they gathered at the deceased compound and accorded him a second burial ceremony.

 

Late Dr Odita who died twenty-five years ago was a Chief Consultant Gynecologist and philanthropist.

The burial, which was celebrated according to Onitsha Custom and tradition, saw various masquerade performances and presence of high-profile persons.

 

Speaking during the burial, the deceased brother, Mr Nnanyereugo Odukwe expressed sadness over the demise of his brother whom he described as a man of his words and commended the efforts of his children for seeing that their father was accorded his funeral rites.

Sons of the deceased, Messers. Ikemefuna, Mario and Chiedu Odita described their late father as a peace loving, kind and generous man who offered free education and free medical care to many.

 

The daughter of the deceased, Mrs Nicole Obiozor expressed gratitude to God for the successful outcome of the event and described her late father as a rare gem and philanthropist, calling on her siblings to carry on with the good legacies of their late father.

 

Others who eulogized the late Dr Odita includes, his in-laws, Mr Nwaeze Ubaerike and Okey Obiozor.

Condolence visits by friends, in-laws and Well-wishers, dance by women and masquerades added colour to the event.
