Members of the old chairmen and women leaders’ forum 2002/2003 set of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Awka Constituency one, comprising nine wards have described Governor Chukwuma Soludo as God sent to Awka town.
The group made this known when they paid a solidarity visit to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Mr. Ossy Onuko in his office in Awka.
The APGA leaders in their various speeches, eulogized the efforts made by Gov. Soludo to transform Awka into a world-class capital city, and noted that the current administration has paid maximum attention to Awka as a state capital in less than two years in office, unlike the previous administrations since the creation of Anambra in 1991.
The coordinator of the forum, Mr. Ikechukwu Anene who was a former Chairman of Awka Ward six and currently, the Deputy Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, assured that no vote will be lost in Awka in 2025 gubernatorial elections with the pace of work going on all over the capital city.
Mr. Anene noted that the forum was created to ensure that no stone would be left unturned in support of governor Soludo, stressing that as former leaders of the party at the grassroots, they have enormous experiences and willpower required to guarantee APGA’s victory in all elections.
Also speaking, the first female ward Chairman in Awka South, Mrs. Bridget Okeke, explained that Gov. Soludo has made the next gubernatorial election a lot easier for the party by the good works he is doing across the state.
She appreciated the Governor for appointing a young and vibrant son of Awka community, Mr. Onuko, to be part of his development agenda for Awka capital city, adding that Awka has never had it so good in many years of its existence as the capital city of the state.
The former Chairman of Awka Ward five, Mr. Alex Chinwuko, stated that for governor Soludo to remember the innercity of Awka and rescued them from the menace of flooding, that they will be eternally grateful and indebted to him, and appreciated the efforts made by the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority to restore sanity and orderliness in the city.
Highlight of the occasion was the installation of Mr. Onuko, as the first patron of the organisation.
